Google provides many tools to help you do more on the browser – Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms. Google Forms helps you create and add forms to your WordPress site for free with your Google account.Although it’s been around for a while, it’s an improved version Launched in 2016. Now it’s easier to create and add Google Forms to WordPress.
Forms are a great way to gather any information online. From contact forms and surveys to checkout pages and subscription forms, they are a useful addition to your website.
Here’s why you should use Google Forms on your website:
- Easy to create, add and use.
- Forms are responsive, so you can create, edit, or respond to forms from any screen size.
- Data can be saved directly to a spreadsheet.
- A form can be created and shared on multiple websites.
- Easy to share online and team members can collaborate.
- All data is stored on Google Drive.
- Quickly access all your forms in one place.
- You can view responses in real time and see how individual respondents responded to specific questions.
- Responses can be organized and neatly displayed.
- Many add-ons, such as timers, provide more functionality.
- It allows you to insert images and YouTube videos directly into the questions of the form.
- Features like pre-filled responses, required fields, and multiple-choice grids.
WordPress form builders are great too, but Google Forms can be a better choice when you want to display your form on multiple websites or platforms, collect all responses in one place, and share with others.
Option 1: How to Manually Add Google Forms to WordPress
First, visit Google Sheets website then click Create a form. (Oh, you need to have a Google account before you can do this.)
You have two options here – build a new form from scratch or scroll to choose one of the many templates available.
For the purposes of this tutorial, let’s choose the Course Evaluation form, but you can actually choose anything you want.
There is a floating menu on the side that helps you modify and customize the form to a great extent. You can add more questions, enter a title/description, insert images or videos, and create more sections.
Questions can come in different formats – multiple choice, drop down or linear scale, and you can drag and drop questions to arrange them in any order you want. You can also choose a visually themed design. Also, if you add a photo or logo, Google will automatically choose a color or theme to set the tone of the form.
You’ll be able to apply skip logic to your questions, customize your confirmation pages, use plugins for more robust forms and preview your live forms.
Once everything is configured, find the eye icon at the top and click it to preview sheet.When you’re satisfied with how the form appears, go ahead and click send button.
On the next screen you will find options on how to access the form.

- Copy the embed code and paste it into your WordPress
Since we want to add Google Forms to WordPress, copy the iframe code…
…and paste it into a new post. Then go ahead and preview and publish the post. This is how the course evaluation form appears on my WordPress installation.
Another way to set up Google Forms is to use your Google Drive.found on your Drive new in the upper left corner and click it.then look for more option, which leads to Google Forms. You can also start a new form from here.
Option 2: How to Add Google Forms to WordPress Using a Plugin
When you simply embed code into your WordPress post or page, you get a form that retains Google’s default styling. It won’t apply your CSS and may not blend with your theme. However, you may want a form that better matches the style and branding of your WordPress site. For this, you can try the Google Forms WordPress plugin.
This Google Forms WordPress Plugin Enables you to add Google Forms to WordPress and manage them through the WordPress admin area. It also better integrates your forms with WordPress, plus offers many options to modify and style your Google Forms. It removes the Google wrapper HTML and embeds the form directly into your site’s pages and posts.
The plugin is easy to use. As always, you first need to install and activate the plugin. You’ll find Google Forms items added to your WordPress menu on your dashboard.

At this stage, go back to your Google Form and copy and paste the URL under the “Send” option into the “Form URL” box.
Fill in the rest of the options as you see fit, keeping in mind the overall style of your site. You can also change the text to be displayed on the confirmation page.

Copy the shortcode, open a new post and paste it into a text editor.
The appearance of your form will now depend on the active theme on your website or any custom CSS you’ve added using the plugin’s configuration options.
The important thing to note here is that the plugin only supports published Google Forms. In other words, you need to be able to successfully open the form URL from your browser. This means that these forms do not apply to any forms intended for private use.

When collecting responses for any purpose, it is necessary to format them in a meaningful way and provide insight.
The plugin has a form submission log section where you can view all responses. Maintain timestamps and URLs for each commit, which can provide valuable statistical insights. When you no longer need these records, you can delete them in bulk.
Alternatively, you can access your Google Drive and view all responses directly on the drive.After opening the drive, find the form, open it and click respond Options in the top menu.
When you click the + icon (hidden in the image above), select a destination for your replies, or download replies in CSV format, you’ll be able to view all replies in a spreadsheet format. You can also enable email notifications for replies from your drive or delete them in bulk.
Google Forms are an easy and popular way to collect feedback or responses for any purpose. They are versatile and you can use them to collect emails, conduct surveys, receive applications, surveys, polls, and quizzes. It’s easy to create a Google Form and grant access to it to third parties, whether by sharing a link, emailing it, or embedding it on your website. They can be a better option when you want to share a form and let others collaborate on it.
Forms aren’t the only valuable addition to your website, as Google provides many other services, such as analytics and fonts.
